Moorpark Little League

Volunteer!

Little League Mission Statement: Little League Baseball, Incorporated is a non-profit organization whose mission is to promote, develop, supervise, and voluntarily assist in all lawful ways, the interest of those who will participate in Little League Baseball and Softball.

Moorpark Little League is helping to promote youth activity.

Little League Baseball is an organization designed to build good citizens. It is a program of leadership, preparing today's youth to be tomorrow's leaders. At the local level, Little League relies on a devoted legion of adult volunteers to help ensure that the organization remains structured and runs smoothly. Your local Little League program is always looking for responsible and enthusiastic individuals to support and coordinate Little League events and activities. As a volunteer, you should have a keen interest in the safety, well-being, and overall development of children.

Anyone can apply to become a volunteer. Whatever talents or skills you have, we can use them! Across the country, volunteers are grandparents, siblings, aunts and uncles, retirees, community leaders, former Little Leaguers, friends, neighbors, and more. Any community member who wishes to become a volunteer may apply.

All parents of children involved in Little League Baseball are strongly encouraged to volunteer. As a parent, volunteer, you have the opportunity to spend quality time with your child in a safe, fun-filled environment. Oftentimes, parent and child social lives parallel each other. Volunteering allows your life and your child's life to intersect on common ground, with shared interests and goals.

Prerequisites for Volunteers

All team volunteer positions require a successful background check prior to the start of the season. This process will be initiated through SportsConnect to registered volunteers.

On-field volunteers will need to be fingerprinted at least every four years. Note that the fingerprinting must be done specifically for Moorpark Little League. Fingerprints taken for other organizations (AYSO, Parks and Recreation, etc...) do NOT carry over to Little League. All costs associated with fingerprinting are covered by Moorpark Little League when performed by AccuPrints.

On-field volunteers are required to complete the annual Abuse Awareness Training Course provided by Little League International. Click the link above, login to the Little League University Training Portal (create an account, if necessary), and complete the training. Completed training certificates should be collected by each team's manager and submitted to [email protected] once all of the team's volunteers have completed the training.
