Every year two players from Moorpark Little League are selected as recipients of the Easton - Sgt. Ron Helus Legacy Award. The spirit of this award represents Sportsmanship, Commitment, Upholding the Little League core values, Respect to others, and Dedication! Everything that Sgt. Ron Helus represented when he wore his uniform.

Ventura County Sheriff Sgt. Ron Helus, a 29-year veteran of the department, was one of the first officers at the Borderline shooting in Thousand Oaks, Ca. and bravely lost his life in the line of duty. He was a coach and volunteer at Moorpark Little League. Moorpark Little League is proud to partner with Easton to help carry on the legacy of Mr. Helus!
